We have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Manager to join our team based in Glasgow.
Working within a leading pre construction team, the Bid Manager will be afforded the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, including high value and technically complex bids for key clients across public and private sectors. Kier Construction take pride in delivering client-focussed, modern, efficient solutions to meet client needs across a wide range of projects spanning all sectors, including Education, Healthcare, MOD, Custodial, Commercial and Leisure.
Location: Glasgow, Scotland - Flexible working options with regular travel to office required
Contract: Permanent, full time, Monday to Friday, with flexible hybrid working
Responsibilities
As a Bid Manager, you will lead the bid team, assembled from highly skilled members of our pre construction and operational teams. Working collaboratively, you will develop the bid strategy and effectively manage the whole bid lifecycle. Reporting to Senior Bid Manager, your day to day duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Take up early involvement opportunities with clients to fully understand needs, identify opportunities and tailor bid strategy.
- Assist in the assembly of bid teams, identifying key knowledge and expertise relevant to specific bids.
- Arrange and chair Bid Meetings with relevant stakeholders ensuring accurate and effective communication across stakeholders to set strategy, timescales and input obligations.
- Drive engagement and collaboration with subject matter experts to ensure timely receipt of technical information pertaining to bids.
- Interrogate information received from internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with the Bid strategy.
- Guide, review, edit and generate bid writing output to ensure that returns are in line with the bid vision.
- Attend feedback sessions with the client and coordinate tender queries and amendments.
- Present confidently to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Actively seek out opportunities to facilitate further learning about MMC methodology, carbon reduction, industry and technological advancements to ensure Kier are at the vanguard of modern delivery.
Who are we looking for?
- An individual with proven experience in the built environment who has contributed to quality bid writing.
- Someone who has worked within the bid function for leading national or regional contractors.
- Strong negotiation and people influencing skills
- Someone who is collaborative, engaging, flexible, client-focussed, trusted.
Qualifications:
Relevant industry qualification (e.g. HND, degree, RICS, CIOB).
