We are recruiting for a Bid Engineer or Bid Estimator
Competitive salary dependent on qualifications and experience
This exciting opportunity to join our team has been created because of our continued success and expansion within the marketplace, in particular the renewable energy industry. We are looking to recruit an experienced Bid Engineer or HV Estimator to manage tender enquiries.
In partnership with the team, you will be responsible for quoting work and delivering winning bid submissions, bid presentations, contract negotiations and eventual handover to electrical engineering projects teams, in accordance with the Powersystems agreed business strategy and requirements.
Duties and responsibilities of the role include:
- Managing full life cycleof tender enquiries from initial enquiry, estimation, submission,clarifications, negotiations and contract award
- Develop strongunderstanding of clients commercial and technical requirements
- Produceand deliver high-quality and technical bid documentation. Ensuring thatstructured responses are written in the context of Powersystems values, uniqueselling points and that we are considered as a quality solutions provider andthe number one choice for existing and prospective customers
- Setout and build-up of tender costings
- Build strong,sub-contractor, and supplier relationships
- Carry out site surveys,attend pre-tender, post tender and pre-order meetings
- Update and trackprojects through the CRM system and provide regular progress reporting
- Organiseand manage effective use of time to submit completed bids and proposals for reviewand approval prior to final submissions
- Project a professional image to clients andcolleagues
- Contributeto the future success of Powersystems and its clients

Heres what you need to be successful in the role:
- Have proven capability andtechnical knowledge in delivering tenders within the electrical infrastructuresector (transmission or distribution) in renewable energy, EV, commercial andIndustrial, generation and grid stability markets or highly allied experience
- Good technical and commercialknowledge and the ability to interpret complex documents, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellentorganisational and time management skills
- Befully conversant and up to date with the competitive marketplace
- Soundjudgment and good financial sense
- Full UK driving licence
- Knowledge of High Voltage systems would be an advantage
- Strong report writing skills andthe ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
- APMP UK bid/proposalcertification
- Strong negotiation skills
- Open to change, resilient andproactive
- Must be available to travel onwork related business throughout the UK with occasional overnight stays
