Overall Purpose of Role:
The Business Intelligence Analyst is a member of the team responsible for the delivery of BI solutions within Synetiq. The Business Intelligence Analyst is involved in all aspects of the BI process from requirement capture, data identification, data warehouse design and the production of reports They deliver data driven solutions using the Microsoft Azure Synapse framework, PowerBi and SSRS.
The Business Intelligence Analyst liaise with stakeholders throughout the organisation to deliver BI solutions that support business decision making.
Key Areas of Responsibility, Activities & Tasks Involved
Reporting to the Business Intelligence Manager key areas of responsibility include:
- Working with key stakeholders from within the business to understand, capture and document requirements
- Actively look for and report any potential issues with source data
- Design and build dashboards using PowerBi to meet business requirements.
- Query data in source systems using SQL
- Build reporting extracts using PowerBi report builder and SSRS.
- Present BI solutions to stakeholders
- Have an understanding of database structures both transactional and as a dimensional model
- Stand in for the Business Intelligence Manager when required
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience of working in a BI role
- Knowledge of building reports from system databases or a Data warehouse
- Experience of financial reporting
- PowerBi
- SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Studio) Experience
- Transactional SQL
Monday - Friday 08.30am - 5pm
