The Vacancy:
We have an opportunity for Benefits Assessors Level 1. The main purpose of the role will be to process applications for free school meals, school uniform grants and crisis awards and liaise with residents, schools and suppliers. The opportunity is full time and permanent and can be either homeworking or hybrid working from Hounslow House.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Process applications for free school meals, school uniform grants and crisis support awards.
- Ensure awards are determined accurately and within service level agreements.
- Ensure requests for supporting evidence are clear and concise.
- Maximise entitlement to other welfare benefits including council tax support and discretionary housing payments.
- Ensure that the Performance Management tool is completed accurately, and weekly performance information is provided to the Line Manager in a timely manner.
- Participate in weekly and monthly employee review meetings.
- Ensure knowledge is kept up to date in relation to Liberata policies and procedures.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with minimum 5 grades A-C including English and Maths.
- Experience\understanding in meeting targets and developing own performance.
- Competency in use of various IT systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
