Overview of Position: Support Staff are responsible for delivering Above & Beyond services and experiences to our guests. Successful candidates will demonstrate a love and passion for the mountain and a strong desire to help the program succeed and children learn to love skiing and snowboarding. Job Duties: Support the programming check-in and check out process by providing accurate information to guests while facilitating a friendly and efficient process Support Instructor staff by providing individual attention to children that require extra motivation and encouragement to participate in programming Ensure outdoor facilities are set up and maintained consistently to facilitate efficient meeting and learning areas Maintain outdoor facilities to be free from outdoor hazards such as ice, mud, or equipment that may be problematic and report it to a supervisor for attention if unable to maintain it individually Ensure rental procedures are followed consistently for safe and efficient delivery and return of equipment Monitor outdoor learning areas to support instructors with tasks including rental equipment exchanges, children that need the restroom, learning aids or features that need maintenance, and other related duties Monitor children that are unwell, tired, or not participating and contact parents as appropriate Assist with prepping, serving, and cleaning up lunch, snacks, and drinks. No cooking is required. Job Qualifications and Skills: People Skills Develop relationships with guests and co-workers based on trust Engage in meaningful two-way communication with guests and employees Identify, understand, and manage your emotions and actions to create a comfortable environment Job Skills: Comfortable and excited to work with children ages 3 to 12 Must be willing to learn about Ski and Ride School Operations Ready and willing to learn new skills including food safety or rental procedures Physical Requirements Must be able to regularly and consistently move equipment or people weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work in any outdoor winter weather conditions for up to 6 hours per day Must have ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand and must be able to understand the speech of another person Other physical demands that may be occasionally required are as follows: Pushing and/or pulling, stooping, kneeling, and reaching Must be at least 14 years old. Work Schedule and Conditions: Part time and full time positions available. We are in the business of providing an Above and Beyond product and guest experience. Traditionally our busy periods are during weekends and holidays which you will be expected to work. You can also expect to be asked to work extra hours or days on occasion, especially during the holidays.
