Job description
Overview
The busser is primarily responsible for clearing, sanitizing, and resetting tables according to the dining room floor plan. They support runners, servers and captains to ensure all steps of service are carried out with utmost attention to detail that is synonymous with Milos standards.
Primary roles and responsibilities
- Removes soiled plates, glasses, cutlery and napkins (linens) from tables during and after service
- Ensures all service stations remain are consistently and adequately stocked with clean linens, silverware, glassware, trays, dishes, etc
- Liaises with FOH staff to set tables and make arrangements for any special requests
- Refills beverage glasses at all times during service
- Attends to guests needs as necessary
- Assists servers and runners with their tasks (as needed)
- Polishes cutlery, crockery and glassware
- Familiarizes themselves with menu items, including allergens, to respond to guest inquiries
- Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Maintains a friendly, warm and professional demeanour at all times
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Requirements
- A minimum of two (2) year experience in a high-volume restaurant environment
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Remains calm and acts professionally in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Able to multi-task, is receptive to feedback and direction
