Job description

International Comrades Coffee Shop Ltd is a speciality coffee cafe in East London (Mile End). We are rewarding, fun, professional, and our goal is to provide top quality coffee and an excellent cafe service for the local community. Coffee equipment available: La Marzocco Linea PB, VA Mythos 1, and EK43. On the coffee front, we are sourcing some fantastic speciality grade and microlot coffees. Also we have a good food offering.

We are looking for an experienced Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and a commitment to providing excellent friendly customer service.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold speciality coffees, teas, and smoothies.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines for food preparation and service.
  • Greet customers and take orders.
  • Clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ingredients.
  • Operate till and accept card payments from customers.
  • You will have a minimum of one year's experience in hospitality and a working knowledge of all areas of running a coffee shop; including good Latte art, stock control, machine maintenance and cleaning, recipe setting and dialling in grinders, opening and closing shop.
  • Shifts will include the flexibility of working on weekends (Saturday/Sunday).
  • You will be required to prepare and serve food to a good professional standard and training will be provided as necessary.
  • Requirements: Fluent English, UK passport (or valid UK work permit), N.I. no. and a UK bank account.
  • Broad music taste including 80’s classics!
  • Must live locally (within 30 mins commute).

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 26-38 per week

Salary: £8.00-£11.00 per hour

  • London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

  • Barista experience: 1 year (preferred)
  • Hospitality: 1 year (required)
