ABOUT LITTLE GOAT DINER: Litte Goat Diner is the neighborhood spot for enjoying breakfast all-day, sharing coffee with friends and indulging in the diner staples you loved as a kid—along with creative takes on the classics. There are many ways to enjoy the light-filled space including a 140-seat diner, a bakery churning out house made breads, cakes and treats, a coffee shop featuring Dark Matter coffee creations, a lively bar with cocktails and local beer selections, and a private dining room with a rooftop terrace.
BARISTA/CASHIER’S RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Upon arrival, check barista bar and make sure everything is well stocked, orderly and clean
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for our guests
- Welcome and engage with guests as they walk into our space
- Make & serve drinks according to house recipes and standards, both to counter, window and in house guests & for service well
- Greet guests in a timely manner
- Answer guest questions & be knowledgeable about the menu, specials, 86d items, wait time, and any other pertinent information
- Take orders in a timely manner & make sure all orders are put in efficiently and correctly
- Deliver drinks in a timely manner
- Relay any pertinent information to the kitchen regarding modifications or allergies
- Clean & organize as much as possible as you work
- Relay any issues to manager on duty
- Assist teammates in delivering food and beverage to guest
- Expedite as needed using Aloha KDS, ensuring order accuracy and upholding time standards
- Help assemble and facilitate orders including catering, in house, and to go/ delivery
- Deliver checks and run payment in a timely manner
- Help maintain barista bar inventory by stocking & organizing product, both in diner and in storage spaces
- Perform all side work thoroughly and check in with M.O.D. & other barista staff prior to clocking out for the day.
- Assist teammates with constant table maintenance (clearing, water & coffee service, table reset, etc.)
- On days when business is slow, cleaning projects may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior restaurant experience
- Works well under pressure
- Maintain all required health, sanitation, and alcohol service certificates
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Interpersonal skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools, equipment, and cleaning chemicals
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant which may include stairs, uneven, and/or slick surfaces
- Ability to bear exposure to hot and cold environments
