Job Profile
The Food and Beverage Associate greats and fulfills customer needs with an end goal of providing a great customer experience. The Food and Beverage Support Services includes working in the Grab & Go and the restaurant and lounge.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Creating a memorable first impression, smiling and greeting guests.
- Ensures that guests are made comfortable and up to date with the status of the restaurant
- Organizes and maintains a steady flow of guest seating
- Maintains a clean and respectable working environment
- Bus and reset tables as required to maintain flow of guests through the restaurant
- Directs guests to appropriate outlets i.e. washrooms, event rooms, etc.
- Be up to date and knowledgeable of the surrounding area i.e. be able to give guests accurate and efficient directions.
- Takes and organizes reservations
- Works closely with other departments to optimize guest satisfaction, relative to food and beverage
- Responsible for the daily execution of guest key service standards as outlined by the hotel including leading guests rather than pointing, using eye contact, smiling and using the guest’s name
- Follows company policies & procedures as outlined in the Employee handbook, and effectively communicate them to other team members
- Understands and work in accordance with health and safety mandates
- Understands the variety of food and beverage choices and can recommend appropriate solutions to customer needs
Grab & Go
- Responsible for greeting Guests and taking their order, entering into POS system and verifying order by repeating back to Guest
- Suggests additional items as appropriate
- Receives and processes payment
- May assemble orders and present to guests according to recipe guidelines
- Knowledge and understanding of safety and sanitation guidelines including temperature requirements
- Responsible for maintaining work area-restocking and cleaning
- Ensures that food presentation is fresh and up to quality standards
- Replenishes food and other serving items as necessary
- May require equipment operation, including working near equipment that generates heat
- May prepare and serve customizable beverage items that may include any of the following: Coffee, espresso, tea, and shaken beverages in a moderate volume, fast paced environment
Qualifications
- Must have serving it right and food safe certificate
- Must have food safety certificate
- Excellent command of the English language- written and verbal. Other languages an asset
- Possess a positive attitude and works well with other team members
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent guest service skills, desire to meet and exceed guest expectations
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the customer and provide suggestions on food & beverage options
- Ability to work under pressure with sometimes demanding/abrasive customers
- Sense of urgency, strong work ethic with a passion food and beverage and the ability to work unsupervised
- Comfortable with computers and technical programs
- Must be willing to work in Kamloops, BC
- Must be eligible to work in Canada

Physical requirements
- Constant standing for a minimum of 4 hours at one time
