The Bistro Attendant is responsible for preparing food and beverage orders, serves meals and beverages to patrons as regulated by State and Federal age requirements following recipes, brand, and Food Safety Standards.
Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):
- Presents menu, answers questions and takes order for food and beverage, utilizing suggestive selling techniques and following brand steps of service, check with guest regularly to ensure satisfaction and perform guest service recovery when needed
- Computes bill in MICROS, presents accurate check to guest, process payment, tracks sales receipts, count bank at the beginning and end of shift, complete designated reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts and secure bank.
- Ensure complete knowledge of Bistro food and hot beverage standards, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste according to recipe, operate ovens, microwaves, espresso machine and other kitchen equipment
- Ensure complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beer, wine selections, recipes and garnishments per Bistro Standards
- Setup, breakdown, clean and sanitize all Front and Back of the House, to include clearing, cleaning tables, counter-tops, silverware, dinnerware, sweeping, vacuuming, removing/dispose of garbage
- Cleaning, service and breakdown of meeting rooms including food & beverage setup according to Banquet Event Orders
- Deliver orders to guestrooms as requested
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
Position Requirements:
- 1 Year of Food and Beverage service required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including morning, nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to multitask and handle stress in busy periods
Education:
- High school diploma or GED;
Typical Physical / Mental Demands:
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms
- Must use hands to perform food preparation and sanitation responsibilities
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, crouch to restock, store and clean
- Must have good near and far vision, including ability read and interpret written instructions/directions
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
- Ability to distinguish smells
- Duties mainly performed indoors
- Must be able to hear, moderate noise level
