Summary:
The Archr Barista is responsible for creating memorable experiences for customers through exceptional hospitality, high quality food and beverage, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. The Barista is responsible for upholding the policies and procedures outlined in the Archr Employee Handbook and Archr Training Manual. The Barista is responsible for providing friendly and attentive
service for each customer, making and serving specialty coffee and teas, food, and retail products with exemplary service.
Responsibilities:
- Warmly and enthusiastically greets every guest upon arrival.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and hospitality
- Works with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy.
- Anticipate customer needs by evaluating customer cues.
- Ensure every beverage is consistent, presentable, and made with care.
- Consistently execute drink recipes and procedures to the Archr standard.
- Explicitly follows company procedure for cash handling, food safety, and café organization.
- Develop an understanding of coffee and tea origins and the various differences in flavor and blends.
- Routinely maintains a clean work environment, included but not limited to: cleaning coffee bar area, floor, dishes, windows and taking out trash, etc.
- Cleans coffee equipment daily and throughout the scheduled shift with meticulous care.
- Restocks, cleans, and organizes retail shelves every shift.
- Promptly assists in the distribution and organization of deliveries.
- Anticipates cafe needs by evaluating work environment.
- Accurately enters orders into POS and correctly issues change back to customers in a courteous manner.
- Understands and is able to explain to customers the various types of beverage products, food items, and services.
- Supports coworkers and peers by practicing active listening and by working with a solution oriented approach.
- Openly and directly communicates customer drink orders to the team and clearly communicates completed drink/food orders with a projected voice in a friendly manner.
- Answers the telephone in a courteous and friendly manner by providing store greetings, directions to store locations, and answering customer questions.
- Develops a rapport with customers by learning their names, favorite drinks and food items and accurately answers customer questions regarding coffee blends, preparation, and product freshness.
- Performs daily job duties with a team-oriented approach.
- Maintains a calm, and welcoming presence during busy work periods, or unexpected situations.
- Communicates important information to the management team and immediately reports potential safety hazards and employee accidents to the manager on duty.
- Maintains consistent attendance and punctuality; provides the management team with advance notice if unable to fulfill scheduled shift responsibilities.
- Informs the manager on duty of any operational inconsistencies.
- Contributes to a healthy and safe work environment by following all sanitization/hygiene protocols.
Food Program:
- Correctly executes Archr food recipes and procedures.
- Develops an understanding of food handling and health safety procedures.
- Understands and is able to explain to customers the various types of sandwiches, toasts, and bagels offered.
- Restocks, cleans, and organizes prep space when necessary.
- Promptly assists in the distribution and organization of deliveries.
- Immediately reports potential safety hazards to the manager on duty.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and listen to customers and co-workers.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move items up to 30 pounds.
- Regularly required to handle food and hot beverages.
- Possess at least 1 year+ of customer service experience.
- Coffee experience not required, but a plus!
- Works with a team-oriented approach driven by solutions.
What You’ll Get:
- Wage: $17 - $21/hr + tip
