About us
Tiger Yard is sister venue to Cardiff’s creative events company , The DEPOT. We will combine chefs , restauranteurs , street food traders and bartenders of course! to create the ultimate hang out over looking Cardiff Bay.
By using 25 rainbow coloured shipping containers to create the versatile space , we can hold up to 1000 covers which includes 3 covered seating areas.
We will have permanent food traders with special guest appearances changing depends on the time of year.
Our aim is to bring a fun, vibrant space to eat, drink and relax back to Cardiff bay
Tiger yard will also be used to host all types of events throughout the year so watch this space.
Job purpose
As a member of the Tiger Yard Team you will be expected to serve our guests with a smile on your face and make them feel welcome. We want tiger yard to be a spot for everyone, weather your walking your dog or just having some food and a cocktail after a long day at work.
We will have a number of roles that you can gain experience from as we want all of our team to be comfortable in all areas.
We want you to have a professional understanding and knowledge of offers, menus, cocktails, local area and product to support the ability to promote and upsell our offers and products to our guest.
The Tiger Yard Team will have bar tenders , runners , front of house and promotion roles all to try , which we will then help us create a strong supportive team that also has fun whilst working
Role responsibility
· To make and serve drinks on the bar
· To ensure all surrounding bar tables are presentable on first visit for every guest.
· Ensuring the bar cleaned by wiping down surfaces, removing soiled glassware, clean and organize storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles.
· Professional understanding of product knowledge menus / offers and promotions.
· Providing great guest care and answering all questions
· Maintaining all records and report levels of usage to assist in reordering process and ensuring that delivered items are stored properly.
· Mixing beverages
· Taking orders from guests or floor team and serving drinks as requested
· Assisting in receiving deliveries and rotation of stock.
· Being clear on daily schedule/bookings
· Keeping a well-stocked bar to ensure it meets brand standards with regards to supply of liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, napkins, straws, glassware, levels.
· Ensuring we provide our guests with a quality of service that will enhance their experience.
· Liaising with on the floor ‘Caddies’ to ensure correct levels of guest comms is shared.
· Complying with all food and beverage regulations.

Hourly rate and tips
· £ 10.50 p/h — £12.00 p/h
· Tips work as a part of a ‘Tronc System’ and will be paid monthly in with wages.
Contract type/Working hours
· Part Time
· Monday – Sunday – Availability during operational hours
· Rota’s to be distributed 2 weeks in advance
· All request for days off/holidays to be submitted to line manager with 2 weeks’ notice
