Job description
We are currently looking to appoint a Bank Receptionist to work in the Den within the Family Care Division. The role will cover the Den Reception, Children's Hearing Services, Nightingale Ward and the Neonatal Unit.
Working flexibly to cover between 8am - 8pm, 7 days per week, as and when needed (inclusive of Bank Holidays).
The successful candidate must be customer focused with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work under pressure are essential requirements, together with great attention to detail for ensuring data is recorded accurately onto the patient administration system.
To be successful in this role you will possess good qualifications including GCSE Maths and English grade C or above (or equivalent), excellent interpersonal and IT skills and have relevant office/secretarial experience. You must have effective communication skills and be adaptable to meet the service needs.
Knowledge of medical terminology, customer care and previous NHS experience are also desirable.
The main emphasis of this role is to provide a comprehensive and courteous clerical service to the Child Health team. For example, provide a comprehensive reception service to the Den, whilst working in conjunction with a multidisciplinary team and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
Duties will include delivering a front of house face to face Receptionist service, answering the telephone and other queries, recording of appointment outcomes, filing in patient case notes, and operate IT systems such as Medway and Systm One.
