Hourly rate: £13 per hour
Job summary:
We are looking for dedicated healthcare assistants who are willing to contribute to the further development of the theatre and imaging department, delivering a safe and exceptional patient experience. You will be a valued and fundamental part of the team, caring for patients who may go on to undergo day-surgery procedures and expected to promote the highest levels of quality healthcare.
The post-holder should possess a good general standard of literacy and numeracy, education to GCSE level or equivalent. Previous healthcare experience is desirable but training can be supported within the team.
Main duties of the job:
- Maintain a patient focused quality approach to all aspects of work
- Assist in the care and comfort of the patient at all times.
- Recognise and report and clinical and non-clinical incidents to a registered practitioner to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
- Participate in governance activities such as audit and incident reporting.
- Help to facilitate the smooth running of operating lists, liaising with the practitioner in charge, patients and clinicians to support their needs.
- When trained to do so, complete and record patient observations, promptly highlighting any discrepancies to the wider surgical team.
- Ensure the clinical areas are prepared to the appropriate level of cleanliness at all times, as described in the Infection Control policy.
- Where required, maintain patient records in accordance with The Winchester Clinics data protection and confidentiality policies.
- Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels and order supplies of linen, gowns and consumables.
- Check all the received orders and distribute stock across sites as required.
- Assist in the induction and training of new staff.
