A fantastic opportunity has arisen on the Bank for a Healthcare Assistant (OPMH). The post holder will be responsible for direct care delivery for people with a diagnosis of organic mental health illness and associated problems related to the Aging process, in particular, Dementia, Challenging Behaviours' and Physical Disabilities. The post holder will carry out all relevant forms of care in support of and supervised/directed by a Registered Nurse and will support the Registered Nurses in the implementation and delivery of high standards of patient care promoting patient wellbeing following a ‘Person-Centred Approach’. Follow nationally accepted guidelines as directed when dealing with aggressive/abusive situations and attend the Managing Violence and Aggression courses as mandated whilst supporting patients, staff members, carers and the public in stressful situations Use judgement to identify challenging situations and defuse and distract patients to promote the safety of patients, other staff members, carers or other visitors to the ward.
