The Bank HCA role is both exciting and rewarding. You will get to work in a variety of clinical environments across both Gloucester Royal and Cheltenham General Hospital. Our Temporary Staffing Service is able to offer a variety of shifts across our two hospitals which means that you can book shifts to fit in with your life style and be paid at very competitive rates.

As a Bank Health Care Assistant you will be expected to provide all aspects of personal care to our patients. You will need to perform observations of vital signs and escalate concerns to senior colleagues.
There is a requirement to use the Electronic Patient Record system as well as a range of other IT systems as part of the role.
Team work is essential within this role and there is a need to work with all colleagues within our Multi-Disciplinary Team.

- Six Months experience of basic nursing and personal care which must be within the past twelve months.

- Working within the multidisciplinary team supporting the delivery of assessed and evaluated programmes of care.
- Under guidance, deliver safe patient care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using equipment and resources safely and as appropriate.
- Discretion and understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
- Understand and adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures.
- Undertake specific delegated tasks following the appropriate training and competency level e.g. patient observations and patient personal hygiene.
- To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.
- To communicate effectively, especially where patient ability to do so is compromised. On occasions, the job holder may be exposed to distressing or emotional circumstances.
- Will be required to work within the recognised Manual Handling guidelines
- May be expected to frequently manoeuvre patients/objects over 15kg using appropriate aids for short periods of time.
- Will have frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions and will be required to follow policies and procedures pertaining to bodily fluids, infection control and COSHH regulations
- Ability to work where the work pattern may be unpredictable e.g. prioritising patient demands.
- May be required to work in confined spaces.
