Overview
The Standing CT Company (SCT) is an independent mobile diagnostic scanning company. We offer mobile scanning services to different hospitals across the UK.
We are a small but fast growing business and are very proud to be a certified BCORP, using our profits and growth to make a positive impact for our employees, communities and the environment.
This position is for the role of a Bank Health Care Assistant and involves ensuring that our patients receive the highest levels of customer service while they are with us, as well as supporting the Radiographer undertaking the scanning.
The position is a bank role, working on an “as and when required” basis. Work is available at a number of locations as detailed below.
The post holder will also need to have their own vehicle as travel to clinic sites is necessary.

Job Purpose
- The post holder will provide the highest levels of customer service, support and care for service users (patients as well as their carers and family members) within a multidisciplinary setting.
- They will undertake assigned tasks under the general supervision of a registered radiographer in order to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of clinics.
- The post holder will be trained to ensure that issues of equality, diversity and patient rights are dealt with in accordance with good practice and legislation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- To promote a positive service user experience to patients throughout their stay through proactive listening, being responsive to issues raised, and resolving issues and concerns raised by service users with colleagues and senior members of the team.
- To be responsible for maintaining and conducting oneself in a professional manner towards service users, carers, colleagues and other agencies, at all times.
- To participate in working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary teams to provide seamless care for service users.
- To provide service users with personal care, where and when required, and demonstrate empathy, dignity, respect and compassion at all times.
- To observe and report to a registered member of the team, any changes which may indicate an alteration in the general wellbeing and safety of a service user.
- To understand the importance of the relatives/carers contribution to care and conversing with the service users and their relatives/carers, establishing their needs and assisting them as necessary.
- Undertake data entry to support the Radiographer in booking in patients once they have arrived, and recording information regarding their scan.
- Ensure that the working environment is clean and tidy at all times.
- To ensure good working relationships with colleagues by contributing to the effective running of the service, through engaging in discussions, completing all required training and attending appropriate meetings.
- Ensure any faults or issues are reported accordingly in a timely manner.
- Ensure the mobile unit is set up and ready for scanning patients beforehand.
- To ensure patients receive the best possible care following safe procedures.

Training and Development
- To attend all relevant mandatory training as and when required to do so.
Quality and Patient Safety
- Protection of Children & Vulnerable Adults – To promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
- Infection Control - To follow SCT guidelines for the prevention and control of infection.
- Incident reporting - To report any incidents of harm or near miss in line with the company’s incident reporting policy ensuring appropriate actions are taken to reduce the risk of recurrence.
- To contribute to the identification, management and reduction of risk in the area of responsibility.
- To ensure day to day practice reflects the highest standards of governance, clinical effectiveness, safety and patient experience.
- To be aware of the responsibility of all workers to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients/ clients, visitors and workers.
General
- To maintain up to date knowledge of all relevant SCT policies and procedures.
- To ensure that all duties are carried out to the highest standard.
- To comply with all relevant company policies, procedures and guidelines, including those relating to Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Confidentiality of Information and to be aware of any changes in these.
- To comply at all times with the company’s Information Governance related policies. PERSON SPECIFICATION
Education / Qualifications
- Educated to GCE/GCSE (Maths and English) or equivalent.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent would be desirable.
Experience
- Customer Service Experience.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Previous experience of working within healthcare setting.
Skills/Abilities
- Able to demonstrate commitment to high quality care and service provision.
- Effective communication skills both verbally and written including IT literacy (MS Office).
- Enthusiastic and can be flexible with working hours and days.
- Shows appropriate professional and personal boundaries.
- Behave in a professional manner enabling good team working.
- Aware of own limitations. Outstanding organisational skills.
- The ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent attention for detail.
- A clean and tidy appearance is essential. (A uniform and name badge will be supplied)

- Full UK Driving Licence
Knowledge/ Understanding
- Awareness of safeguarding issues
- Acting as a chaperone requirements
- Basic understanding of legislation relating to care including – Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Act, Children’s Act, Equality Act 2010, Health and Safety Act. GDPR. Knowledge of NICE guidance.
