Spire Murrayfield hospital was established as a purpose built hospital in 1984, conveniently located in the west of Edinburgh. In 2015 our consulting rooms had a £1 million refurbishment. In 2010 we opened Shawfair Park Hospital, based in south east Edinburgh. Each of our hospitals practice some of the most advanced treatments supported by the latest generation imaging and diagnostic technology. This means we offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading edge surgical procedures and cancer care.
Spire Shawfair Park Hospital is looking for an Assistant Chef to join our fantastic team our bank team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to pick up flexible hours covering days off, holidays and sick leave within the catering team, with shifts varying between 7am and 7pm
Duties and responsibilities:
Working as part of our Catering department you will be responsible for helping the head chef with food preparation of simple Hot and Cold meals in line with our corporate menu for staff and visitors. This will include preparing all meals from scratch in line with our corporate menu and assisting with ensuring high standards of health and safety are met. You will be expected to work within all sections of our kitchen including sandwiches, the grill and desserts as you assist with providing a high quality catering service.
There will also be a requirement to organise corporate events and have an involvement in developing these.
Who we're looking for:
- Experience working in a kitchen environment is preferable but not required
- A passion for catering
- A good understanding of health and safety within a kitchen environment
