This is a rare, exciting and unique opportunity to join a dedicated communications team, as Head of Online Communications.

The Head of Online Communications will lead and be responsible for the development and delivery of the corporate web and intranet sites, acting as the subject matter expert within the organisation on all online services and representing the organisation externally and internally on all issues related to the sites.
Crucially, you will lead and manage a large and complex project to redevelop UHB's intranet, working with clinicians, managers and wider colleagues across the organisation, as well as external suppliers, to ensure provision of the best possible patient experience and service delivery.
This is a key role as a senior leader within the communications team and is imperative to helping us deliver the very best online services.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The Head of Online Communications will lead and be responsible for the development and delivery of the corporate web and intranet sites, acting as the subject matter expert within the organisation on all online services and representing the organisation externally and internally on all issues related to the sites.
The post holder will assume day-to-day leadership and responsibility for managing the project to redevelop the intranet, working with clinicians, managers and wider colleagues across the organisation, as well as external suppliers, to ensure provision of the best possible patient experience and service delivery.
A key role for the Head of Online Communications will be the rigorous definition and oversight of digital communications projects, including risk and issue management, ongoing evaluation and ensuring quality control and service delivery are consistently maintained to a high standard.
The post holder will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure effective management of interdependencies and delivery of objectives.
It is expected that the specific projects managed by the post holder will change over time, as the portfolio of work changes.

Educated to degree level.
Extensive knowledge of
Specialist areas, acquired through post graduate diploma, or equivalent experience, or training.
Strong evidence of ongoing professional development.
Experience

Project management experience in managing complex services including design, development, implementation and management of change in a multiple stakeholder environment.
Extensive experience in a web design/development environment.
Extensive experience in producing content for web-based tools
Extensive experience of managing and developing web and intranet sites, with a strong understanding of best practice and content management systems, including open source platforms such as WordPress and/or proprietary systems.
Experience of managing change in complex project situations.
