An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Physiotherapist to join our Cancer AHP outpatient team to lead and deliver on the development of Physiotherapy pathways for specific tumour sites. The focus of the role will be agreed depending on the skillset of the candidate recruited. There are currently Physiotherapy pathway development opportunities in the Haematology, Lung, Urology, Colorectal and Skin cancer pathways.
We are looking for a physiotherapist with highly specialist physiotherapy skills and an established specialist interest in Cancer services.
As a lead Physiotherapist for specific cancer pathways you will have demonstrable leadership skills and service development experience, excellent communication and time management skills with an ability to build networks to develop our existing physiotherapy service.
We are looking for an excellent team player who is experienced, flexible, and proactive to assist us in delivering high quality patient care.
- Responsible for the delivery of a very high-quality physiotherapy service by self and others through caseload management, supervision and development of therapy staff and students.
- An autonomous physiotherapy practitioner performing an advanced musculoskeletal assessment of patients including those with complex presentations and from this formulates a diagnosis and treatment plan
- Takes a lead role in the supervision, teaching and appraisal of senior clinicians, junior clinicians, technical instructors and assistants, physiotherapy students (possibly including those at Masters level)
- As clinical team lead, is responsible for operational management and development of designated of sub-specialty/clinical team
- Supervises, initiates and participates in evidence-based projects and is responsible for implementing changes within designated team/area and setting and monitoring standards of practice
- Dissemination of information/advice from team leader or Head of Service
