Job summary

14 Moths Fixed Term Post

We are looking for a candidate with the appropriate knowledge and experience of conducting patient safety incident investigations, or the equivalent, to work within the Clinical Governance and Patient Safety Department at UHB.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a well-established team of investigators.

Main duties, tasks & skills required

You will be required to interpret complex data and produce a clear narrative analysis. You will be expected to have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to prioritise your cases. The role also involves navigating sensitive issues in a professional manner. The successful candidate will be expected to work within the new national Patient Safety Incident Response Framework.

The role is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital but includes regular travel between hospital sites and elements of home working if desired.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience (E)

  • Ability to source, research and collate information/data. (E)
  • Evidence of a methodical approach and effective organisational skills. (E)
  • Significant experience at band 6 or equivalent. (E)
  • Ability to implement change (E)
  • Knowledge and experience of different approaches to investigations/root cause analysis (E)
  • Knowledge of National policies, procedures and initiatives or current issues facing the NHS (E)
