Job summary
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust aims to be at the leading edge of technology and digital adoption in the NHS, bringing novel care pathways and innovations to improve patient care and access. The Digital Transformation team manages this ambitious programme of work, supporting the design and adoption of the latest cutting-edge technology and deployment of artificial intelligence into clinical practice. We're looking for a confident, proactive, and highly organised individual with great interpersonal skills to fulfil the role of Transformation Officer and support this agenda.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The Transformation Officer will support the delivery of projects within the Transformation portfolio. They will use and develop a variety of skills to successfully deliver projects that have a meaningful, positive impact for patients and the trust. This includes problem solving, project management, analytical, effective communication, and relationship skills. They will work hand-in-hand with people across healthcare, from designing solutions with front-line clinicians, to influencing managers of clinical specialties and corporate functions, and collaborating with technology providers. The Transformation Officer will work autonomously to deliver their priorities and part of the project(s), supported day-to-day by their line manager and project lead.

Educated to degree level or equivalent
Project Management or Management post graduate qualification or proven equivalent practical experience
Evidence of continuing professional development
Desirable
Training or qualification in improvement methodology (e.g., Lean), or equivalent professional experience
Training or qualification in leadership or management, or equivalent professional experience

Experience communicating, presenting, and building productive working relationships with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds and professions
Experience working with qualitative or quantitative information in an academic or professional setting
Experience contributing to the design or implementation of solutions to problems in an academic or professional setting
Experience using software (e.g., MS Excel) to extract or analyse data
Experience of effective task management, prioritisation and execution, that contribute to the successful delivery of a wider project or goal, including working to deadlines
Experience contributing to project management activities, such as maintaining project plans and risk logs, updating project summary reports, or leading meetings to drive action
