Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Medical Engineer has responsibility for the repair and servicing of a range of infusion devices used at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham and our external service level agreement sites
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder will repair, service, commission and decommission Infusion Devices based at QEHB and our external service level agreement sites. Involvement in the scheduled maintenance and calibration schemes. Modification and configuration of operational medical and laboratory equipment to improve safety, performance and facilities as instructed by either Safety Alert Bulletins, Manufacturers or any other authorised party. Written reports relating to incident investigation and equipment assessment.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential
Professional electronics knowledge through BEng in electronics or equivalent.
Manufacturer approved technical training on a wide range of complex medical equipment.
Evidence of attendance of short courses and regular updating of training required.
Experience
Essential
Substantial experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment.
A comprehensive understanding and competence in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment specific to the section.
Ability to record and analyse work data.
Relevant knowledge and competence in electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, anaesthetics, gas, infusion therapies computing and physiological measurement, as appropriate to the
section.
