Job summary

Are you a Band 6 Physiotherapist looking for an exciting new role, working alongside the military, that offers numerous benefits and opportunities? This position is based at Dering Lines, Brecon.

We are an inclusive and dedicated organisation working to provide excellent care to our hardworking service personnel. Our chosen candidate will be delivering a high standard of physiotherapy to Service personnel, including highly specialist interventions in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury environment.

You will be adept in providing a positive caring environment, in which patients can expect a high quality professional service.

This position is offered at 20 hours per week. Please note the salary will be pro-rata for part time hours undertaken.

Job description

To ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculoskeletal/sports and training injury areas.

Person specification

Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries.
  • Formulating, developing and delivering a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
  • Communicating effectively with patients to ensure informed consent for assessment and treatment, good understanding of their conditions and maximise their rehabilitation potential. Patients may have barriers to communication e.g. English as their second language.
  • Advising the Senior Medical Officer with regard to specialist physiotherapy recommendations.
  • Managing and prioritising your own clinical caseload efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

Degree in Physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to post graduate diploma level or equivalent.
