Band 6 Occupational Therapist (OT) – (medical, surgical, orthopedics, neuro)
Job Summary:
- To assess and treat own caseload of patients within the defined clinical area and maintains associated records
- To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner within your area of specialty
- Facilitates and supports the discharge planning process
- Supervises less experienced physiotherapists, therapy assistants / technicians and students.
- To work flexibly across specialties when requested, and if competency allows
Qualifications
- HCPC Registration – (E )
- BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, or equivalent – ( E)
- Member of RCOT - (D)
Skills and Knowledge
- Post graduate courses relevant to field of expertise (E)
- Excellent clinical skills in relevant field of expertise (E)
- Good English speaking and writing skills
- Good working knowledge of basic IT software (word & excel, email) (E)
Experience
- Relevant post registration experience as an OT (E)
- Working in the NHS (E)
- Evidence of working in a team situation (E)
- Evidence of student or physiotherapy assistant supervision (E)
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of delivering quality of care (E)
- Respects the privacy and dignity of individuals (E)
- Demonstrate an understanding of equal opportunities (E)
