Job description
This is an exciting and challenging role working within the lower limb and chronic pain specialist therapy team at Wessex Rehab. You will work closely with the team to develop and deliver effective and efficient specialist out-patient rehabilitation to patients suffering from conditions affecting their lower limb(s). This includes complex leg injuries and reconstruction, lower limb trauma, and non-traumatic conditions. Some patients will have psychological barriers that impact their recovery. Treatment is delivered with a combination of 1:1 and group therapy across a range of traditional Physiotherapy and Occupational environments. You will also work with the chronic pain service, helping to deliver pain management programmes to those living with persistent pain alongside the rest of the team.
The successful candidate will work primarily as part of the lower limb team, but will also provide clinical support across the Wessex Rehab pathways, interacting with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Pain Consultants, Therapy Practitioners and Workshop Technicians.
This is a complex role requiring you to work alongside patients and carers communicating with them in a way that respects their views, autonomy and culture. You will have ample opportunity to use a range of treatment skills and techniques, clinical reasoning and exercise progression. You will also develop psychological insight working closely with the psychology team to maximise patients’ outcomes. You will be closely supported by the clinical specialist team as well as other team members.
