Job overview
We are looking for a full time Band 5 Staff Nurse to work within our Outpatient Department at Solihull Hospital.
We cover a range of clinics including ENT, Cardiology, Respiratory, Breast, and General Surgery, Plastics, Vascular and more! You will be working with a team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants as well as Consultants, Doctors, Specialist Nurses, Educators, Radiographers, Audiologists etc.
Your role would include the set up and shut down of clinic areas, ensuring patients are in the right area for their appointment, chaperoning, assisting with small procedures, dressings and other general nursing tasks.
Our nurses oversee the running of the department and take on link nurse roles such as sepsis, IPC, Safeguarding. Nurses can learn to do vascular dressings, assist with breast biopsies and assisting with ENT investigations.
Usual hours of work would be between 7:30 - 18:00 Monday to Friday with occasional weekend cover needed.
Occasional cross site cover may be needed from time to time.

Qualifications
Essential
Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
Experience
Essential
Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/competence
Experience of working on own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team/providing supervision to others
Willingness to become a practice supervisor/assessor to or meets Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
Understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
