We are expanding our Nursing team across our Emergency Department's at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. This is an opportunity to join a growing team, dedicated to delivering compassionate person-centred care and to play a key role in innovation and transformation. The workload throughout the department is varied and interesting with no two days being the same. The successful candidate must be dynamic, possess excellent communication skills and have a high sense of professionalism ad a strong belief in the value of teamwork.
We have a dedicated clinical education team to support our staff and allow you to build on your existing nursing skills for your future career and development within Emergency Nursing.
We have full and part time position available and offer a range of long and short days and support flexible working.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The Role of a band 5 within the Emergency Department is that of delivering high quality nursing care to all of our patients. You will be supported in learning a vast range of new skills, including the treatment of resus patients, triage and minor injuries. Alongside the support and training provided by our in house clinical education team, you will also have a dedicated Band 7 team leader to support you alongside our in house well being teams.
This role is looking for dynamic people who have experience working autonomously and in a team. Being competent in a range of clinical skills; having the willingness to learn and undertake expanded practices relevant to the scope of practice is essential for a nurse in ED.

Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Adult Nurse on the NMC Register
- Evidence and ability to revalidate as required by the NMC
Experience
Essential
- Previous / recent experience or working in an acute secondary NHS care setting (can include student placements within the last 12 months )
- Evidence of achievements and career development in current post and of on-going professional development/ competence
- Experience of working on own and in a team in a health care environment delegating to others within a team / providing supervision to others
- Willingness to become a practice supervisor / assessor to or meets Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for student supervision and assessment
- Understanding and knowledge of the NMC code of conduct
- Understanding of preceptorship and work based learning and assimilation of skills and knowledge
- Awareness of current relevant NHS policy context
- Understanding / experience of the principles of safeguarding and Mental Capacity
- Awareness of health and safety issues
