The physician’s assistant supports the medical staff with all aspects of the Trauma service, performing a mixture of clinical and administrative tasks which release the other members of the team to perform more enhanced skills. The work is flexible in work pattern and would have some out of hours element.
You will be a key member of the team, using your knowledge and skills to help improve patient flow on the ward and assist the multi-disciplinary team with patient pathways. For this reason the role requires the ability to organise your time efficiently and prioritise effectively.
You will take responsibilities from the outstanding jobs list, using your own judgement and initiative to prioritise and ensure completion of the most important jobs. You will be supported by the junior Doctors, Registrars, Consultant, Ward Manager and service manager.
You will use cerner and other patient information systems in your daily work and will need to demonstrate IT literacy
You will need an awareness of the limitations of your role and the boundaries within which you will be working so that you do not exceed the levels of your competencies.
