Are you a caring Dental Nurse looking for a rewarding and varied job working with patients with additional needs?
Solihull Special Care Dental Service (Community Services) are looking for Qualified Dental Nurses to join our friendly dental team who are committed to providing a service of high quality dental care to the community we serve.
Our Dental Service provides dental care for people of all ages with additional needs (Special Care Dentistry). The successful candidates must be organised, well-motivated and passionate about providing care for those most at need.
We have Dental Clinics in the North and the South of the Borough: Central Solihull, Smiths Wood and Shirley. You would be required to travel between Clinics, Mobile Dental Units and Hospitals within the Trust on a regular basis so the ability to travel and to be a car owner with a full driving license is essential.
This is a permanent contract, part time or full time hours are available.

Main duties, tasks & skills required
The post holder will work flexibly within a special care community dental team providing high quality dental care for a wide spectrum of patients particularly adults and children with additional needs. This could include those with learning disabilities, severely challenging behaviour, dementia, dentally phobic, medically compromised or physical disabilities.
To provide Reception/administration duties and Dental Nurse support to Dentists, Dental Therapists, Students and Principal Dental Nurse as required by the Dental Service.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential
A minimum of 5 GCSE's to include English and Science at C level or above
- Hold a Dental Nurse qualification, which should be NVQ Level 3 or National Certificate for Dental Nurses.
- Registration with the General Dental Council
- Evidence of continued professional development
Experience
Essential
Theoretical knowledge and practical dental nurse experience
- Knowledge of basic life support and medical emergency procedures.
- Understanding the principles of confidentiality
