Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, well-motivated forward thinking individual with a desire to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and expertise in the role as Administrator within the Diabetes and Endocrinology department in Ward 2 Heartlands Hospital Site at University Hospital Birmingham NHS FT to support the Ward Manager and Team.
18.75 hours per week.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The successful candidate would work with and support the Ward Manager and team providing administrative support, cascading communications and managing an electronic data base.
They would need to have good general administration skills, be polite and confident on the phone, be generally well organised in their working practices, and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
They would need to have good verbal and written skills. Confidentiality and discretion is essential. The successful candidate would need to have a good level of IT skills. Familiarity with NHS systems would be desired but not essential as training will be offered and supervision and support will be provided by existing administration staff and Senior Sister.

Good General Education (e.g. GCSE English and Maths A-C) GCSE Level 9-4
Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a clerical environment
Previous experience in an Administrative / PA role

Experience of dealing with the Public/Customer service experience
Experience of working with a range of Microsoft Office packages (eg. Word, Excel and Outlook)
Experience of using IT systems
