Hi, My name is Julie Stott and I am the manager of STEPs EDU. I am looking for HCA staff to join my team supporting patients that are suffering with eating disorders. This is an exciting career opportunity for someone looking at working with this client group. You need to be motivated and have an interest in working with people with eating disorders and other mental health conditions. We as a unit offerbrilliant supervision structures and developmental opportunities. Through this support there is the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in eating disorders, and increase your competency in your role as a Health care assistant.
Support will be given by the Ward Manager and by peers.
supporting patient with meal and snacks.

offering 1-1 sessions
escorted leave in hospital grounds and out on trips
assisting catering with meals for patients
assisting nursing staff with physical health monitoring
support patients in groups
general observations and engagement, high level of observations if needed
supporting nursing team with NGT feeding

- To work as part of a care team to deliver evidence-based interventions to service users with mental health problems.
- To develop and practice, working alongside registered clinicians, a set of therapeutic care skills, making a significant contribution to service users’ psychological, emotional and social wellbeing.
- To ensure service users and their relatives receive care that prioritises safety, effectiveness, partnership and hope.
- To promote and champion core care values by supporting junior, temporary and newly-appointed Healthcare Support Workers.
