We are looking for a Health Care Assistant who wishes to work independently under the leadership of Registered Nurses and have the ability to work on their own initiative whilst demonstrating compassion and commitment to improving lives of Solihull residents, at the same time as developing their career within community services.
You will need to have a minimum of an NVQ level 2 qualification in health care and recent experience of working within a nursing setting. You will also need to hold a full UK driving licence and be a car owner/ driver.
There is also exciting opportunity of career progression for candidates that are successful with Trainee Nurse Associate (TNA) programme.
Main duties, tasks & skills required
The role involves delivering clinical interventions under the supervision and guidance of registered nursing staff to patients within their home environment who can have very complex needs. Our District Nursing teams work closely with specialist nurses, GPs, Therapists and Social Work teams in providing and facilitating collaborative support and care to patients and their families and in preventing avoidable hospital admissions.
The individuals we are looking for will be highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative and have the ability to embrace the challenges of the changing and growing demands of the primary care setting.
Previous community experience is not essential as full training and support will be provided to the right candidates.
You will need to be able to meet the needs of this service by being available to work flexibly between the hours of 07:00 to 23:00 hours on a rota basis over a 7 day period and be able to drive. We do accept flexible working requests.

Evidence of completion of a Health Related Education and Development programme/ Care Certificate
Experience

Experience of recent working in an acute hospital / provider led healthcare environment as an Health Care Support Worker
Evidence of working in a multidisciplinary and cross agency work environment
Experience of carrying out assigned duties after training and using initiative
Competent in a range of clinical skills and practices relevant to the scope of practice required
Understanding of the principles of safeguarding and Mental Capacity
Awareness of Health and Safety issues
Has knowledge in relation to the parameters and scope of practice in which the post holder should work and when to seek advice and support of others
