We have a fantastic opportunity for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to support the leadership of Southwest Pathology Services within our Pre-Analytics and team, based at our hub laboratory in Taunton.
Responsibilities:
- To prepare and process clinical specimens for biomedical testing, within operating procedures and protocols.
- Utilise the laboratory LIMS, Q-Pulse quality monitoring system and other application software according to authorised protocols including assisting in computer data entry in all areas of the laboratory.
- To ensure deliverables meet ISO15189 standards and are written up in accordance with those standards.
- To complete regular, timely reports as required.
- To provide good working practices and ensure that they are maintained in the relevant laboratory department.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 4 GCSEs to include English, Maths and at least one Science subject.
- Working knowledge of the receipt and preparation of samples for biomedical testing.
- Good degree of accuracy & numeracy.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to adapt efficiently to change.
Desirable:
- Science A – Levels or a degree entry qualification.
