Job Role
Working as a Bakery Assistant, alongside our Production Manager, your role will include such responsibilities as:
- Always working safely in accordance with policies, procedures and legislation.
- Operating in a commercial bakery environment.
- Assisting in the preparation and scaling of granola and porridge mixtures.
- Traying granola.
- Assisting in the accurate weighing of ingredients and following of a recipe to create our breakfast products, currently including granola and porridge.
- Filling commercial mixers.
- Baking granolas.
- Carrying out cleaning duties in the Bakery and packaging area ensuring a high standard of hygiene/sanitation.
The role may also from time to time require helping with the packing of our finished porridge and granola products, in addition to general department housekeeping and assisting with deliveries.
Who we are looking for:
- Excellent attention to detail
- A fast learner and able to adapt to any situation
- Highly organised, meticulous and dependable with the ability to multi-task
- Proactive and self-confident – you will need to spend periods of time working unsupervised/with little management due to us being a small team
- High degree of initiative - ability to think ahead and anticipate needs before they arise; problem solve, increase efficiency and streamline processes
- Physically strong as there will be heavy-ish lifting (such as 20kg oat sacks) and standing on shifts
- Able to be flexible as part of a small team
Experience:
- Previous experience in food production would be advantageous but is not essential as full training will be provided.
Certification:
- Level 2 food hygiene certificate (advantageous but not essential as training will be given)
We are a relatively small start-up team, so rely on each member of staff to be highly driven to carry out their day to day duties to a high standard without prompting. With this comes potential opportunities for growth, increased hours, and career progression as the business grows.
At the moment we see this role being worked over 2 shifts per week from 9am-5pm Mon & Tues. With a 30 min/shift unpaid lunch break. Opportunity for increased hours.

Salary: £9.60 per hour
