Purpose

Reporting to the Bagging Plant Supervisor. The main purpose of the role is to deliver Yara a safe and effective bagging and distribution operation within the Port of Ayr.


Principal Accountabilities


  • Work in compliance with the ABP Safety Policy, environmental policy, security and all other written instructions and guidance.
  • Carry out pre user checks on all plant authorised to operate. Record and report defects to the Supervisor, Operations Manager or Engineering Department.
  • Responsibility for own safety and the safety of other staff in compliance with ABP Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Receiving and bagging bulk fertilisers in accordance with Yara procedures for the storage and handling of fertilisers.
  • Operate all authorised equipment as trained or instructed.
  • Handling of other cargoes and assisting Operations Department where required.
  • Loading and unloading of transport at the terminals to a high standard.
  • Maintenance and cleaning of the terminals to a high standard.
  • Be vigilant to suspicious activity and perform security duties where required.

Competencies, Skills, Experiences & Qualifications


Essential

  • To work in compliance with the ABP Safety, Environmental and Security policies
  • Aptitude to learn new skills and have a flexible outlook
  • Be physically fit and carry out manual tasks
  • Ability to fit into and enhance the existing team

Ideal

  • Experience of bagging equipment working to production KPI’s
  • Knowledge of fertiliser transport and storage standards and accreditations.
