WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

As a Senior Backend Engineer in the Member Engagement team, you will play a pivotal role in Babylon's patient-centric operations. As a part of this team, you will contribute to various critical activities, including:

  • Outreach Data Pipelines: You will contribute to the development and implementation of data pipelines that are used for targeted outreach campaigns to communicate important information to our patients.
  • CRM Integration: You will be working with leading CRM platforms such as Braze and Salesforce, ensuring seamless integration and efficient data management.
  • Patient Segmentation Engine: You will help develop our advanced patient segmentation engine to identify specific patient groups and tailor our outreach efforts accordingly.
  • Population Explorer Tools: You will develop tools that are used to understand and analyse patient populations, which aids in making informed business decisions and strategies

Our Technology Stack

Python, Java 17+, Spring Boot, GraphQL, Microservices, Postgres, Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, CircleCI and Azure Pipelines for continuous integration/delivery.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

As the ideal candidate for the Back End Engineer position, you should possess the following characteristics:

  • Expertise in modern Python or Java with a keen interest in creating and maintaining microservices.
  • Experience working with relational databases, especially Postgres.
  • Familiarity with data processing pipelines, particularly Kafka.
  • Proven ability to write secure, scalable, and high-performing code in a cloud environment.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and React is desirable but not mandatory. Willingness to learn these technologies, if required, is essential.
  • A strong user-centric approach, with a focus on improving health outcomes for our users.
  • Excellent team player with experience in Agile and/or Scrum methodologies.
