About the role
As Back End Developer you will be working alongside a multi-skilled Digital Engagement team, with expertise across front end development, UX and UI design, data analysis, CMS governance, and CMS administration. The Back End Developer will be expected to drive continuous improvement of our Sitecore CMS, ensuring that an excellent user experience is at the centre of all development work.
You will be responsible for developing robust and reliable solutions, and will act as the team’s subject matter expert. Part of this will involve helping with knowledge transfer, working particularly with IT Services and Marketing and Communications colleagues. This role includes the ability to influence the way the University meets its digital challenges and opportunities, and is crucial to how students and staff use its digital services.
About you
Degree educated or with equivalent experience or qualifications, you will have knowledge and experience of a broad range of technologies. This includes substantial experience of .Net framework, alongside continuous integration approaches and tools. This should include demonstrable experience of solution development, service-orientated architecture, application lifecycle management and agile software development.
