We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and dynamic physiotherapists to join our physiotherapy team with 9 month rotations covering:
- MSK Outpatients
- Respiratory
- Surgical
- Care of the elderly
- And specialist opportunities: Paediatrics and Oncology
- Provide a highly specialised and up to date physiotherapy service to the in-patient wards. Be competent in a range of Physiotherapeutic skills; respiratory, surgical, care of the elderly, neurology
- To be an active member of the working rota which provides a physiotherapy service to all acute medicine wards, 7 days per week, including bank holidays.
- Provide clinical support and supervision for band 5 staff, students and assistants working in these areas.
- Be expected to provide and manage the physiotherapy service to highly complex acute in patients.
- Be actively involved in follow-up care when needed.
- This post will require a good understanding of a broad range of physiotherapy specialities, a good understanding of the role of Occupational Therapy, Social and Community Services and Support participating in the supervision of Band 5 Physiotherapists and assistants. The post holder should also have a broader understanding of departmental /therapy issues.
- The post holder will rotate through core clinical inpatient areas.

The clinical work requires the post holder to have a broad but in-depth knowledge of the types of conditions and needs typically experienced by older people along with expert skills in improving and maintaining function in a range of conditions. The ideal candidate will also have experience in supervision and training of others including students and have specialist skills in assessment and therapeutic interventions.
Successful candidates will have a strong team work ethic, a sense of accountability accompanied by an ability to work under pressure at times.

This support will occur through a mix of supervisions (clinical and management) provided by a Senior Physiotherapist, personal development plans and the candidates own active participation in supervision and education of others.
You will have the chance to enhance current service delivery and be involved in on-going service developments, including research, audits and reviews. The service is covered over seven days and you will be required to work weekends and early and late shift patterns on certain rotations.
