About the Role:
As a Site Reliability Architect (SRE), you will be responsible for designing and providing the technical governance over the delivery of significant workloads on the cloud. You will define the infrastructure, network, and security design, along with the design of platform tooling services (based upon cloud managed services, open source, or commercial products). You will set the technical standards that define what good looks like for all services and put checks in place to ensure compliance.
Although a technical background and deep technical knowledge is required, this position is not hands-on.
Required Skills:
- Hands on experience of working with key AWS services
- Site reliability engineering (SRE) experience
- Deep understanding of how to design and build secure, scalable, and resilient platforms on AWS
- Hands on experience of designing and delivering workloads using a wide range of AWS services
- Experience of working in environments using Kubernetes
- Great written and verbal communication skills, with a willingness to be collaborative and pragmatic in nature as well as being able to communicate with senior stakeholders
- Proven technical leadership across several projects
- Strong problem investigation and diagnosis skills
- Technically inquisitive, with a genuine passion for keeping your skills and knowledge up to date with emerging industry trends, via conferences, meet-ups and self-motivated research
Desired Skills:
- AWS Associate, Professional or Speciality certifications
- Hands on experience of working with key AWS security services
- Knowledgeable about the key security risks that are present when using AWS and how these can be prevented, detected, and remediated
- Delivering within an agile environment
- Building, deploying and operating Serverless workloads
- Implementing and working with continuous integration / continuous delivery pipelines
