As a carer, you'll know it's not always an easy decision for someone to invite carers into their home. Once they do, they deserve and expect only the best possible care. Nexus Care Services are award-winners in private home care. They're now looking for full-time Auxiliary Nurses to join their ever-growing team of experienced, compassionate and reliable carers.
As part of this exciting opportunity, you will need to be a driver with access to a vehicle and have good time management, communication, and interpersonal skills. You will also need to have completed the Care Certificate (or equivalent) Taking & Recording Blood Pressure, Urinalysis Dipstick and Tissue Viability training.
For this role, you must also be able to work two evenings a week and at least one weekend a month minimum as part of a normal working week. In return, you will be paid £12 per hour on weekdays and £12.50 per hour at weekends. You'll get two free uniforms, and we will pay for your training and development, travel time and fuel costs. You will also receive holiday pay.
Responsibilities
- Help clients take prescribed medication.
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able).
- Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own.
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
- Report any unusual incidents.
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.
- Be willing to check on clients we have concerns with (within reason)
