APPLICANTS MUST HAVE PTS
25th September through to December 2023.
As autumn arrives falling leaves cause many problems on the UK rail network. Leaves on the tracks reduce adhesion between the train wheel and the track causing the wheels of the trains to slip. To reduce disruption special rail vehicles are operated. These vehicles are equipped with high pressure water jetter units to blast clean the affected areas of track. These vehicles also lay a substance known as ‘adhesion modifier’ a product which contains clay, sand, gel and chemicals to increase adhesion. Weedfree Limited has contracts to provide operators who travel on these rail vehicles operating this equipment.
New starters will be fully trained and mentored in the operation of this equipment, and certificates of competency will be issued.
Please be aware that this position is UK wide and will require working away from home, accommodation and overnight expenses will be provided.
These rail vehicles operate to a strict time table so the successful applicants must be punctual and very reliable. Circuits run at all hours of the day and night seven days a week so operators must be prepared to work antisocial hours.
Salary: Agreed at interview stage
Bonus: £10 per shift attendance bonus, paid at the end of the contract. Subject to Conditions.
Transport: Vehicle and fuel provided when required, or a vehicle allowance
As part of the selection process candidates will be required to attend a rail standard medical and D&A screening.
