Job description
- Works closely with project teams, business partners, and key stakeholders to analyze core processes and workflows
- Methodically examines the structure of processes including upstream and downstream dependencies; making decisions to determine fit for automation and new technology
- Gathers requirements for workflows and participates in design sessions for the integration of automation of those physical and systematic processes
- Consults with US Foods leaders to identify relevant standards and metrics that drive desired organization and vendor behavior
- Identifies opportunities for improvement; evaluates new technologies, process innovations, and partner relationships for alignment with strategy roadmap and business value
- Performs process simulations
- Provides process documentation and operating instructions
- Drives Process and Automation changes; ensuring that development is done on time and to specification
- Demonstrates initiative and operating within Supply Chain leadership’s intent to deliver changes at an enterprise level (project management, vendor and consultant collaboration, steering committees, project team structure, communication, change management, etc.)
- Delivers process and automation improvements that that are aligned with US Foods long range network roadmap
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal:
- Primary relationship with Supply Chain (Replenishment, Operations, Operations Excellence, Transportation and Routing, Logistics, Customer Experience), Commercial, Finance, Enterprise PMO
- Close partnership with SC IT team in coordinating systems and hardware requirements, integration, testing, and acceptance
- Professional networks, industry organizations, systems and equipment vendors, and/or consultants focused on leading practices in supply chain systems and technology deployment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Remote: This role is fully remote; the associate is expected to perform assigned responsibilities from a home-based environment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, IT, or other relevant field
- 4 years of experience implementing new technology and automated material handling equipment for a large organization
- Experience in process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma, Lean Transformation, Process and Physical Automation), and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
- Up to 50% travel, will need a valid US Drivers License
- Track record of leveraging established industry best practices, processes, methodologies, and content
- Expertise operations management and process management tools
- Experience integrating multiple systems and applications
- Strong skills in developing workflow solutions to simplify process operations
- Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
- Ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
- Have a broad-based general technology mindset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, Word, and PowerPoint) and/or G Suite. Experience using and implanting modern cloud-based warehouse management solutions (e.g., Blue Yonder, Manhattan, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Ability to interact effectively across the organization including with senior level management.
- Strong ability to communicate with IT users, warehouse operators, and business leaders to craft processes that enable favorable business outcomes
- Customer-focused approach to delivering services and support to internal customers
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience implementing new technology and automated material handling equipment for a large organization in the food distribution and/or grocery distribution industry
