Automation Engineer - London We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to be involved in the management of automation projects or sub-systems of larger projects and the design of machines, including electromechanical systems such as robots, actuators, conveyors, and electrical test apparatus. Main Tasks & Responsibilities As part of the Automation Team, your responsibilities will include the following: * Design electrical and pneumatic control systems and produce schematics and drawings. * Design and develop complex machine control systems and software using Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLCs in Ladder, SFC and Structured Text languages. * Robotic system design and programming using Fanuc and Mitsubishi robots. * Design and develop vision systems for automated measurement, inspection, and control. * Carry out risk assessments on automated equipment and processes. * Design and implement machine safety systems to comply with UKCA (CE) marking requirements, including associated documentation for technical files. * Develop designs to produce 3D engineering models and detailed engineering drawings. * Provide technical assistance and guidance to other Automation Engineers. * Generate design ideas for discussion in design reviews. * Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors to source equipment and components. Skills, Ability and Experience (Essential) * Degree qualified in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering. * Extensive industrial experience in designing and building bespoke automated machinery * Experience using 3D CAD software. * Experience in writing software for PLC controls systems in Ladder Logic * Experience in designing and building electrical and pneumatic control systems. * Experience in machine automation and process improvement * Ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings to BS8888 standard * Extensive knowledge of machine safety.
