Created in 1978 by the New Mexico Legislature, the Department of Cultural Affairs represents New Mexico's dedication to preserving and celebrating the cultural integrity and diversity of our state. The Department oversees a broad range of New Mexico's arts and cultural heritage agencies. These include 15 divisions representing a variety of programs and services.
This position provides accounts receivable, revenue and deposit services.
How does it get done?
Collect, count and verify all cash, checks, and credit card revenue for Santa Fe Museums and State Historic Sites. Properly record receipts and prepare deposits. Maintain a daily journal to monitor and track all revenues by funding source and ensure all revenue is classified and reported properly in the state accounting system. Provide monthly reconciliations related to collected revenue with research and analysis. Prepare and maintain up-to-date accounts receivable for year-end closing activities.

The position resides in Administrative Services Division. It serves all Department of Cultural Affairs programs.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has experience with Excel and cash management, including tracking and reconciliation. Is reliable, enthusiastic, willing to learn, and a team player.
Minimum Qualification
Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or Business Administration and two (2) years directly related work experience in accounting, auditing, finance and/or budgeting. Substitutions Apply. See Substitution Table below.

Employment Requirements
Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License.
Working Conditions
Office work predominately using computer software packages and e-mail. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required. Occasional travel.
