HCA Band 3

An exciting opportunity for an AFC Band 3 HCA to join a dynamic, motivated team of renal nurses who deliver a high standard of specialist care on the renal dialysis unit.

You will be working in a friendly and supportive environment providing comprehensive care and support to patients and relatives.

The post is open to band 2 or band 3 health care assistants who are interested in pursuing and developing a career within renal dialysis setting. Training will be provided. You will be supported and trained under the supervision of our experienced and dedicated renal team.

If you are motivated, keen to learn new skills and committed to the delivery of high quality patient care this is an ideal opportunity for you to grow and develop within the renal setting.

You will be delivering excellent standards of care to patients attending for dialysis treatment.

You will be responsible for ensuring pre -treatment observations are recorded and escalated appropriately.

You will be supporting with the delivery of treatment, assisting the dialysis nurses when required.

You will be trained to ensure the safe set up and preparation of the dialysis stations for patients attending for treatment.

Your role as a Healthcare Assistant will be-

  • To accurately and promptly carry out the instructions of the Registered Nurse
  • Keep the clinical area clean and tidy, maintaining a safe environment
  • Welcome patients, visitors and relatives to the clinical area, providing assistance, support and information where required
  • To prepare the dialysis machines ready for treatment, weigh the patients and check their observations on arrival
  • To prepare the equipment used for each dialysis session
