Our 15-month apprenticeship operates through a block release schedule from our training centre in Buxton, Derbyshire and provides eligibility to apply to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) to register as a Hearing Aid Dispenser, as one of the key milestones.
We are currently recruiting apprentices to join our Hearing Aid Dispenser Level-5 Integrated Apprenticeship. This work-based programme provides guaranteed employment as a Hearing Aid Dispenser with Hidden Hearing upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship.
As a Trainee HAD, you will receive:
- A basic starting salary of £21,400 (plus London weighting allowance in and around the M25) increasing on HCPC registration to £35,297 basic with Commission and Bonus (OTE £55k+)
- Fully funded training
- Company car or car allowance (after achieving pre-reg status at ~35 weeks)
- Accommodation for residential weeks, allowance to contribute towards travel and meals
- 20 days holiday (cannot be taken during the residential training) increasing to 25+BHs on registration.

- After your first 11 week training block you will start working as an Assistant Practitioner supporting our existing hearing impaired client base with a range of services.

What do our Hearing Aid Dispensers do?
- Conduct hearing assessments in accordance with regulatory guidelines and best practice.
- Advise on and sell suitable remedial hearing solutions.
- Support patients through their rehabilitation to ensure the best results possible.
- Provide high quality, industry-leading levels of service and care for our patients.
What qualifications/skills and experience will I need to become a Trainee Hearing Aid Dispenser with Hidden Hearing?
- A minimum of 4 GCSE passes in grades A-C/ 9-4 or equivalent which must include Maths, English and Science. Good literacy and numeracy skills are an essential requirement for the programme and the role. (Please note that if English is not your first language you will need an IELTS Level 7 in speaking, writing and reading (with no level below 6.5). This is a HCPC registration requirement).
- Excellent Communication Skills - You will have excellent communication skills, a warm, friendly personality with the ability to empathise with patients who have a hearing loss.
- Sales experience/Commerciality/Be able to evidence working to targets An essential job requirement as your ultimate success as a Hearing Aid Dispenser will be based on the generation of leads, sales revenue and conversion. Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate an ability to work to targets.
- IT Skills - You will need to be confident with IT, with a good working knowledge of MS Windows systems including Outlook and an ability to pick up new software packages quickly as this is an essential requirement of the role.
- UK driving licence – In order to apply you must have a full and current UK driving licence and access to a car for the training period.
- You must also be able to commit to a 60-week training course, a proportion of this will involve being residential (Monday PM to Thursday PM) for two blocks of 10-11 weeks at Hidden Hearing’s training facility in Buxton, Derbyshire.
- At other times you will need to drive to other locations in and around your area, initially using your own vehicle.
- Be available to start on 2nd October 2023 with no planned holidays during residential periods.
- A stable high speed wifi connection and a space to work without distractions for times when you are not at our training centre.
- You will also need access to a car for the period before your company car will be available to you at 35 weeks.
In addition, applicants should be able to demonstrate evidence of:
· Potential to succeed on the programme, evidenced by a combination of work, life and prior educational experience
· Understanding of and commitment to the subject-area and the programme
· Preparedness for the demands that the course will place upon them

Selection Process: Will take place during July and August 2023 – please note that whilst most of the selection process will take place online, you will need to attend a face to face interview and will also be invited to attend our Buxton training centre for a day at the end of August 2023
