Audiobooks Post-Production Manager
The Company
We are the Audiobooks department of Red Apple Creative.
We’re one of the UK's largest independent producers of audiobooks and work with a strong roster of clients including Audible, Penguin Random House and Bolinda.
We have our own studios and an amazing team of specialists who work across everything audio in addition to Audiobooks:

- Fully immersive 3D audio creative

The Role
As Audiobook Post-Production manager, you will be involved in not just the editing and delivery of our audiobooks, but also working closely with the other team members to run the department, and maintain the high standards that Red Apple are known for.
As the audiobook world continues to evolve you may also be supporting Audio dramas, podcasts and other long form voice recording projects that we create.
You will need to know Pro Tools like the back of your hand, be excellent at keeping to deadlines, and have a great attention to detail. When not editing audiobooks, you may be adding immersive sound design to a production, or recording a VO in one of our studios.

Required Skills
● At least 2 years experience in using ProTools in a Studio environment, working on client projects.
● You will be expected to use ProTools in house and you will be tested on PT as part of the interview process.
● Previous experience working in Audiobooks production is a must.
● Excellent attention to detail, highly organised and a multi tasker.
● Ability to problem solve and work under pressure.
● Friendly, approachable and a team player.
● Passion for audio storytelling and literature.
● Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Optional Skills
● Some sound design experience of any kind - construction of soundscapes or manipulation of sound effects.
● Any other audio related experience, be it music, live sound or VO recording.

Key Responsibilities
Editing, amending and delivering the audiobooks and other longform voice recording projects we produce in the dept, to our clients specifications. Some productions may involve sound design and/or music work too.
Studio management - Setting up sessions, troubleshooting any issues and creating a comfortable atmosphere for producers and narrators in keeping with the personality of Red Apple
Working closely with our extensive group of freelance producers, editors and check listeners. Responsible for scheduling and file sharing with these freelancers.
Training other members of the in-house team in technical and production workflows.
Creating audiobook production briefs and pitching to prospective clients.
Sometimes producing and directing the narrators and managing the in studio session using ProTools to record the book.
Hours:
9am – 6pm Monday to Friday. Please note: Future plans in the dept may call for a review of working hours. This includes flexible times including early evenings and occasional Saturdays being considered - applicants should be aware of this and open to conversations in this regard. We will never impose changes, but we’d like to know you’re open to change.
We have monthly team meetings and 'catch ups' - sometimes out of hours - and
Christmas and summer parties and team outings.
Salary & Benefits:
- £28,000-£32,000 depending on experience.
