WHAT TO EXPECT The Audio Group is a key part of the Infotainment function within our Digital Product Platform, and focuses on concept, development, integration and test of the latest audio & active noise control solutions across the whole Jaguar Land Rover product range. At JLR, the Audio Group are responsible for delivering products and systems that shape the future of audio and entertainment, working with industry-leading partners to develop innovative solutions that aim to give our customers an exciting and immersive audio experience. As an Audio Test & Validation Lead Engineer, you will be a key member of a team of exceptionally talented individuals who are passionate about the development and delivery of premium audio solutions for JLR's luxury vehicles. You will play the lead role in ensuring successful delivery of audio systems of the right quality and to the gateway timings set out by the vehicle programmes. WHAT YOU WILL NEED Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Responsibility for audio sub-system test strategies and cadence for execution. Support the planning, co-ordination, delivery and reporting of test cases for use cases & negative uses cases to support the full scope of requirements. Execution of test cases by manual or automated means as appropriate, and development of strategies / assets / infrastructure to support a pathway to fully automated testing wherever possible. Ownership of test assets (test plans, test cases, test reports in an audit compliant and appropriate format). Investigation of quality issues and analysis of test results, identifying and executing appropriate reproduction strategies where applicable. Collating continuous improvement ideas for the products and feeding lessons learned back to the team for iterative design improvements. Ownership of the supplier relationships relating to test strategies and execution, including but not limited to test coverage and approach. Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Demonstrated experience of developing test plans to satisfy requirements of a range of stakeholders. Experience with integration of PLM toolsets related to requirement and test case management (TRM, JIRA, X-ray). Knowledge of test equipment to facilitate acquisition and deployment of test rigs / facilities. Significant experience with scripting and automated test environments to define and implement an automated test strategy. Experience of leading a test team & management of team activities & progress. Experience in use case definition, exploring negative use cases, creating test plans with full requirement coverage. Excellent communicator and the ability to present technical ideas and issues to all levels of the company, with an ability to effectively articulate abstract concepts. Effective change and configuration management skills. Hold a formal qualification such as degree within Systems Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science or relevant equivalent experience. Desirable: Experience of the automotive or manufacturing industry. Experience of building and managing multiple internal and external relationships in complex stakeholder environments. Understanding of relevant standards to facilitate audit compliance around test case coverage and traceability (IATF16949, UNECE R155, ISO26262, ISO 15288). Knowledge of Six Sigma & structured problem-solving methodologies would be helpful. Experience of involvement with FMEA process and ensuring harmonization with test plans.
