Job Title: Audio Typist

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Type Patient letters relating to clinic appointments, discharge summaries, tests etc from audio, longhand, or verbal dictation, to meet Trust Standards.
  • Typing of Junior Medical Staff clinical work.
  • Occasionally take receipt of test results and ensure they are forwarded to the relevant medical secretary for follow-up and ensure action is taken.
  • E-mail, voice mail, post, telephone calls, messages, and photocopying.
  • Filing of medical information into notes or other data systems.
  • Ensure tracing in / out using pinpoint is kept up to date and completed accurately.
  • Occasionally request notes from other Hospitals and ensure their safe return.

You’ll learn the following whilst working at the trust:

  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.

You’ll have the following skills/experience:

  • System Knowledge – Lorenzo, Pinpoint and ERS
  • Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Previous experience in similar role
  • NHS system Knowledge
  • Excellent Typing skills
  • Microsoft office- word, outlook and excel
